Hey dudes, tuvimos la oportunidad de intercambiar algunas palabras con Fella, guitarrista de Dreamshade, a continuación les dejamos una breve entrevista en inglés/español con él.

H: -¿Cómo estás Fella? Primero que nada, quiero agradecerte por tu tiempo y tu amabilidad al contestar estas preguntas, Comencemos.
Fella: Hola a todos, es un placer!
H: -¿Cómo fue el proceso para encontrar un nuevo vocalista? estaba Kevin en sus planes antes de que Iko dejara la banda? o llegó a la banda cuando estaban buscando que alguien ocupara la vacante?
Fella: No, no teníamos planeado contratar a Kevin antes de la partida de nuestro anterior vocalista. Tuvimos sólo una audición después de que Iko dejara la banda y ése fue Kevin. Trabajamos con él por un mes en las nuevas canciones antes de que anunciáramos que él se unía a la banda.
H: -Eso es genial, La viz de Kevin es sorprendente, la verdad que me enamoré de sus voces limpias, ¿Cómo ha sido la recepción de los fans ante el nuevo sonido de Dreamshade?
Fella: Yeah man! Nosotros también amamos su voz. La reacción de los fans ha sido asombrosa hasta ahora... también tenemos muchos más fans con este nuevo álbum.
H: - Eso seguro, hablando de las líricas ¿Qué te inspira a escribirlas? Especialmente hablando de "Consumed Future", "Photographs" y "The Gift Of Life".
Fella: La vida es nuestra más grande influencia cuando escribimos las líricas. Siempre tratamos de dar a nuestras canciones un intenso mensaje o significado y en mi opinión, las que haz nombrado son bastante conmovedoras.
H: -Desde luego man. Sé que Dreamshade es una banda de Melodic Death Metal, pero para algunos de nosotros su sonido tiene un pequeño toque de Metalcore, ¿cómo describirías el nuevo sonido de la banda?
Fella: En cuanto al género musical, nadie de la banda sabe realmente qué tipo de música hacemos, y personalmente no me importa. La razón por la cual algunas personas dice que tocamos Metalcore es sólo porque nuestro álbum suena muy moderno, en mi opinión ésto no es Metalcore. Lo único que sé es que suena moderno, melódico y a metal. ¡Podría ser esa la etiqueta correcta?... quiensabe.
H: -Tienes razón man, aunque yo no diría que son por completo Metalcore, quizás sólo tantito y en las noches xD . ¿Qué piensas de la industria de la música de hoy en día?
Fella: La industria de la música está disminuyendo fuertemente año tras año. Hay muchísimas bandas increíbles por ahí que no venden ningún disco gracias a las descargas. Ésto no es siempre una cosa mala porque también ayuda a las bandas desconocidas a alcanzar popularidad más rápidamente. Una cosa es cierta: Nadie está ganando tanto dinero de ello como en los viejos tiempos.
H: -Es una situación difícil man. Entre otras cosas ¿Si tú no estuvieras en la industria de la música ¿qué crees que estarías haciendo para vivir?
Fella: Man, Realmente no lo sé! Quizás sería un vendedor de helados.
H:-Haha cierto, nadie lo sabrá. Apuesto a que está fuertemente influenciados por bandas de Melodic Death, ¿podrías nombrar algunas de ellas?
Fella: Personalmente me encanta In Flames, Soilwork y KsE.
H: -Yeah! eso es estupendo. Con todas las grandes cosas que han hecho en este corto periodo (dos videoclips, TGOL LP) ¿Cuáles son sus expectativas en este año como banda?
Fella: Realmente esperamos dar un gran paso como banda, yo creo que ya lo hemos dado con el lanzamiento de "The Gift Of Life" ya que estamos todos muy contentos con él. También estaremos grabando un nuevo video pronto así que mantengan los ojos abiertos.
H: -Puras buenas noticias contigo bro. Y ¿Qué quieren lograr como banda? ¿Cuál sería su meta principal?
Fella: Nuestra meta principal es ofrecer nuestra música y mensajes en todo el mundo tanto como nos sea posible!
H: -Me es grato decirte que lo están logrando :)
Nuestra escena se está haciendo muy grande man, ¿Tienen planes de visitar latinoamerica algún día?
Fella: Sí! Sé que la escena de centro y sudamerica ha crecido mucho en estos últimos años y me alegro muchísimo de eso. No tenemos planes de hacer gira por ahora, pero nos encantaría!
H: -Espero que no se tarden man, estaré esperando las fechas. ¿qué le dirías a la gente que aún no ha escuchado su música?
Fella: Es mucho más que sólo música... dale una oportunidad y lo verás!
H: -Yo diría lo mismo. Ok man, estas preguntas son muy poco comparado con todas las cosas que me gustaría saber a cerca de la banda, pero por ahora son suficientes. Justo aquí puedes decir lo que quieras, despedirte e invitar a nuestros lectores a escuchar su música.

H: How are you Fella? First of all, I want to thank you very much for your time and kindness answering these questions. Let's start.
Fella: Hello everyone, it's my pleasure!
H: -How was the process of find a new vocalist?, was Kevin on your plans before Iko left the band? or did he come when the band was looking to fill in the vacant?
Fella: No, we didn't plan to hire Kevin before our former singer's departure. We had just one audition after Iko left the band and it was Kevin's one. We worked with him for over a month on the new songs before we announced he joined the band.
H: -Kevin's voice is amazing man,I seriously fell in love with his clean vocals, How has been the reception from the fans towards the new Dreamshade's sound?
Fella: Yeah man! We all love his voice too The reaction of the fans has been amazing so far... we also have many more fans now with this album.
H: -What inspired you to write the lyrics? Specially talking about 'Consumed Future','Photographs' and 'The Gift Of Life'
Fella: Life is our biggest influence when we write lyrics. We always try to give our songs an intense message or meaning and, in my opinion, the ones you named are pretty touching.
H: I know that Dreamshade is a Melodic Death Metal band, but to some of us your sound has a little touch of Metalcore, how would you describe the new band's sound?
Fella: Regarding the music genre, nobody in the band really knows what kind of music we are doing and, personally, I don't really care about it. The reason why some people say we play metalcore is just because our album sounds very modern...in my opinion this is no metalcore. The only thing I know is that it sounds modern, melodic and metal. Could this maybe be the right label? ...who knows
H: -What do you think about the music industry nowadays?
Fella: The music industry is heavily declining year by year. There are many awesome bands out there who don't sell any album because of the download. This is not always a bad thing because it also helps unknown bands to reach popularity very quickly. One thing is certain: Nobody is making as much money out of it as in the old days.
H: -If you weren't in the music industry, what do you think you would be doing for a living?
Fella: Man, I really don't know! Maybe I would be an ice cream seller
H: -I bet you're so influenced by Melodic Death bands, could you name some of them?
Fella: I personally love In Flames, Soilwork and KsE.
H: -With all the great stuff did on this short period (two videoclips, the Gift Of Life LP) What are your expectations on this year as a band?
Fella: We really hope to take a step forward as a band and I think we partially already did one with the release of "The Gift Of Life" as we are all very happy with it We are also going to shoot a brand new video soon so keep your eyes and ears open!
H: -What do you guys want to achieve as a band?, What would be your main goal?
Fella: Our main goal is to deliver our music and messages around the world as much as we can!
H: -Our local metal-scene is getting bigger man, do you have plans to visit latinamerica some day?
Fella: Yeah I know the scene in central and south America has grown a lot in the last years and I'm really happy about it No plans of touring there so far but we would really love to!
H: -What would you say to the people who haven't heard the band yet?
Fella: It's much more than just music... give it a chance and you'll see!
